The only thing one needs to help another, is the desire to help. We can easily think that we are not really in the best position and we don’t have much we can do, but often it is the small things that make the biggest difference and serve as an example as to the kindness and generosity we are all capable of having and sharing. Look at what one wonderful neighbor is doing for those in his community. Rick Everett lost his job. But instead of just feeling sorry for himself, he found ways to help others. And hopefully in return, he will receive what he needs as well during this challenging time…
“I wanted to help, I don’t have much, but what I do have I am most willing to share.
I have a coffee machine and a kitchen window that faces the street, so I give away free coffee and other treats to my neighbours and passers by.
I am randomly good at growing things, I have an abundant garden. Even though it is entirely concrete, Last year I was gifted this great stacking garden frame so I water proofed it, lined it with plastic and put it out on the sidewalk and planted herbs in it for people to take.
I relentlessly searched for and eventually got this great cupboard, stripped out the mirrors and glass, painted it bright red and filled it with food staples for people to take as they need and put it out the front of my house.
I lost my work, this gave me time, I used that time to share what I have. If I can do this just on jobkeeper payments imagine what the mega wealthy could be capable of, if they wanted to.
Imagine if you would see thousands of these, tens of thousands… one on every street.”
