It is essential that when police pull someone over that both they and the other person can communicate clearly. But unfortunately, not everyone is able to and those who are hard of hearing are at a huge disadvantage if they are unable to express themselves or their needs and can unintentionally not follow directives. So the Vermont State Police in collaboration the Vermont DMV and the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging & Independent living have created visor cards for drivers if they are pulled over. This step to better understand one another is a positive move to make everyone feel safer.
