Knitting wasn’t Ed Moseley’s hobby. It actually wasn’t something he had ever even done before. But when he was asked to learn to knit in order to help make hats for premature newborns, it was a challenge he willingly accepted and then excelled at. The project not only allowed Ed to supply newborns with a warm hat, something desperately needed to maintain their body heat, but he was providing this gift for the very same hospital where he had been receiving his chemotherapy treatment. At 86 years old, Ed is a shining example of how it is never too late to learn something new, and that it is certainly never too late to give to another. The root of the Hebrew word for “love” is “hav” which means “to give.” Ed is sharing his love for others through the giving of these hats, and in return is receiving the love of all those who are benefitting from his kindness.
