The Hebrew word for “love” is “ahavah“, whose root is “hav” which means “to give.” Love is not a feeling, it is not a description but an action. Love is a verb. And the more we give that love, the more we receive it in return, not just from the other, but from the act of giving it ourselves. This beautiful video shows how this man is so focused on his wife, her needs and making her happy. She is losing her eyesight which means she will not be able to apply her own makeup. But even more so, she will not be able to see how she looks. But her husband knows that her makeup is important to her, so he is learning how to apply it. And through doing so, she will continue to have confidence and feel like herself even though she won’t be able to see how she looks. But she can know that her face will not only show the carefully applied makeup that her husband has taken the care, patience and time to apply, but it will be a reflection of his true love and dedication to her which is the most beautiful thing that can possibly show.
