For many college students who are used to eating on campus or local restaurants and have never had to cook for themselves on a day-to-day basis, making food during quarantine has been quite an adjustment. And while a bowl of cereal for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch may be easy enough, when Friday night rolls around and these Jewish students want to have a traditional Shabbat meal, it has been extremely challenging. But thanks to Chabad on Campus centers throughout the world, students can pick up either full Shabbat meals or the main components like challah and chicken soup so that even though they can’t celebrate with their local Chabad House, they can at least have some home-cooked food prepared with love and support for them during this difficult time. Here are just two examples of what is being offered at the Chabad on Campus centers at Georgia Tech and Georgia State, run by Rabbi Shlomo and Shifra Sharfstein, and at University of Chicago run by Rabbi Yossi and Baila Brackman.
