For the elderly, shopping can be a difficult experience. They move slower, have a harder time pushing their carts, checking out, and loading their cars. Add to that the very real fear that a crowded grocery store puts their health at serious risk when they are the most vulnerable to the coronavirus, and now shopping in a senior’s nightmare. Yet, buying food and essentials is a necessity which means that many seniors will have to brave the stores, as risky as that is. But Price Chopper is trying to help with that. They have now instituted an hour, 6-7 am, early in the morning after the store has restocked, for seniors to come and shop.  This gesture will not only help so many seniors get the products they desperately need, but by keeping them out of the stores when they are crowded with so many others, it will protect their health which is so vulnerable right now and could very literally save lives.
