This won’t go viral. It won’t make the news. But it is something seemingly small like this that can make such a huge impact. I saw this post this morning on our local town’s Facebook page. A heartfelt offer to help any senior in need of sanding. This was not just a kind act. This is actually a life-saving one. We live in a rural village in Southern Vermont where when the roads are icy, they are dangerous. They can even be deadly. Just this week two of my children were in a car accident on an icy road. I know all too well and closely how easily something can happen. So that is why I am sharing this kindness so generously offered by Bruce King and his daughters. He is showing people in our community that he is thinking of them, that he cares and that he will take his time and resources to protect their safety, help them financially, and provide them the opportunity to leave their homes where otherwise the ice could make it just too dangerous to leave. I am so grateful to live in an area surrounded by such wonderful people, and we should always take the time to recognize the acts of kindness, local and global, when we see them.
