This is an incredible story on so many levels. Jack Jokinen, a tired father of a 1-month-old accidentally leaves his front door open. An emaciated, sick dog in desperate need of a loving home somehow knows that door is open and climbs the stairs and enters the house later that night. Twenty minutes later, a random passerby, Steve Griendling, notices the open door to a home. So what does he do? He closes it of course, protecting the home, protecting the dog and creating a relationship that will last forever. There are endless things that could have gone wrong in this situation, but in this case, everything went right. (And as of now, the kind stranger reunited with the family, the family has adopted the dog who they named “Suzyn Pupman” and over $19,000 has been raised to help with the costs of treating Suzyn.) In Hebrew, the word for “dog” is “kelev” which can be read as “kol lev” meaning “all heart.” What a perfect way of describing everyone involved in this beautiful story…
