At 75-years-old, Terry Lauerman is still teaching. Granted no longer in a school and no longer to human students, but he is still teaching nonetheless. It started when Terry would volunteer at the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary by playing with and brushing the cats. Then one day he nodded off while there and took a little nap and one of the cats joined him. So now, on a daily basis, Terry goes to Safe Haven to take his nap alongside the cats, giving them the love, attention and human touch they so desperately crave. It is easy to think that when we sleep, nothing is being accomplished. But Terry is teaching us all that nothing we do needs to be wasteful when it can be used as an opportunity to help another. And in this case, it is making many fur babies very happy!
