We often hear people lament that kids can be mean. But kids can also be nice. Really nice. And when we see a child do what he or she can to combat the bullying that is all too prevalent in schools today, it deserves congratulations. Meet Blake. When his mom offered to make him any t-shirt he wanted, he chose one that would make others feel welcome and wanted. The Hebrew word for a friend is “yadid” which is spelled with the word for “hand” twice (yad/yad). The idea is that if we extend a hand, the other will extend their hand in return. That is what a true friend is. Reaching out their hand. Offering their hand to hold. Holding a hand that is waiting to be held. Thank you Blake for putting out your hand and your heart. Anyone who is your friend is very lucky!
